About Us

We are Craig and Susann, and we are eccentric travelers who has visited 45 States and walked beneath more than 39 foreign flags... our 'other' jobs are as teachers, and teachers don't make a ton of money or get a lot of time off; so this is all about how to take a short 5-7 day trip, getting the most out of those days, and doing it on the cheap...

We started by driving places. When we had hit all the places we could get in one day, we started taking trips that took two days to get to. Then 3 days to get to... but our rule became we have to stay at least as long as we travel, so we would find cheap flights to get further afield in the US. 

Around 1999, we noticed that for the price of a flight to NYC and a good hotel in Manhattan, we could go to Europe, and actually SAVE money.

Half the fun is the planning, and we hope our little blog gives you some ideas on how you might be able to see the world by traveling cheap, but still traveling deep by acting as your own travel agent and guide.
