In Doolin, County Claire (almost due west on the other coast from Dublin), is a great pub, with a great view: Gus O'Conner's Pub, est. 1832.

Close to the Cliff of Moher, they of course have Bangers and Mash, Guinness stew, and soups...

Note, this pub is better than it has to be, as a lot of tour buses come here... so with a captive market they could do just enough; but they hit the mark for us.
