To travel without paying for extra bags that may get lost requires only packing what you will need. So we regularly check the weather for each leg of the trip.
It looks as if I will need to pack my waterproof shoes and umbrellas, but I think I can leave my sunscreen and sandals.
Just recall that weather is not an exact science, and pack for reasonable variations.
